About Donna

A native of southeast Texas, Donna graduated from Texas A & M University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. After teaching a number of years (at the same elementary school she attended), she chose to stay home with her twin boys. Active in her local homeschool community for many years, she now teaches middle school language arts at a nearby private school. She is loving every minute of it!

Donna wrote her first novel, Keeping Secrets, at the age of forty-seven. She has since then gone on to write four more novels and five genealogy books. Most of her novels, inspired by her own family history, have won awards. Family is everything, and every family has a story.

A Texan through and through, Donna lives in southeast Texas with boys who are nearly launched into the world (and way too many animals that are not). She walks with one foot in the present and two in the past. She stops at garage sales, rescues treasures from the side of the road. She dreams of rose gardens and log cabins and time to do nothing but read and write while listening to rustling trees and babbly brooks.
